He's trying to win those cunts back, he realises he massively fucked up with the NY / Man City stuff last year and I think he felt that he was such a legend at Chelsea that they would just leave it.....they didn't!
Seeing him score against them was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in football, the pure pain on his face at scoring filled me with a huge sense of pleasure!

A few things:
- Lampard was a talented player
- In spite of that, he DID NOT put in the effort on the pitch for us and I don't care about the stories of him being first on the training ground and last to leave.
- Redknapp is as much to blame as anyone for not subbing him. He should have protected him better.
- West Ham fans don't just pick on players for the sake of it and whilst i don't personally condone singling one out for boos etc, you can be sure that when it does happen, there is good reason.....most of the time.

I'm being a bit of a pedantic cunt here but I disagree with that. The problem was the board making a monumental fuck up of appointing the right man afterwards.

I was there too and people didn't CHEER. When he received treatment and went off on a stretcher people clapped, just like what happens in all those cases.
It's like saying the Bolton Wanderers fans cheers when Fabrice MUAMBA nearly died on the pitch.

I remember going to that Tony Carr appreciation match at UP one night a few years ago, the one where Di Canio and Zola were playing (Zola being our gaffer at the time). Anyway, all of Carr's graduates rolled out one by one, Cole, Carrick, Rio, John Terry and then finally Lampard. I was pleased to see him get such a warm reception - probably cos' of what the night meant - but anyway, personal grievances were put to one side by both parties as Frank applauded us back. I had hoped that would be the start of a better relationship between us, but sadly it seems that the dislike still runs deep on both sides.
Personally I take about as much notuce of his comments as I do from the Millwall and Spurs fans in the office who say we are shit. Playground stuff.

Lampard deffo split the crowd his time at us.... there was never any people sitting on the fence... we used to have a bloke in front of us in the BML that we used to nickname Captain Birdseye... always used to bring in a couple of Cornish Pasties every game to demolish... fuck me he used to spray everyone in front with peices of pastry and meat if ever Lampard missplaced a pass... whole 90 would be on his case.. got so bad he never even celebrated when chubbs scored for us... I wasn't at the Villa game he broke his leg so can't comment on teh SUPPOSED boo's... heard it was more loud GAFFAWS anyway?
